Cindy Sherman
Cindy Sherman has never interested me all that much as a photographer. I do admit her concepts are clever and there her ideas are conceptual, but it never really appealed to me. I do think the way she was able to create her style by adapting to her surroundings of being afraid to leave her place as interesting. It's almost like a serendipitous moment and everything just clicks. Her photography definitely deals with the male gaze and how women are affected by it. It's interesting to think that she always uses herself and that by creating these scenarios she also creates realities in which people can reflect on. Men have probably seen these moments before and women have probably experienced it.
